The Port of Bilbao is highly specialized in cargo project and has a highly industrialized catchment area. The Port Community is a market leader in the transport, loading and securing of this type of goods, providing a speedy, flexible, and specialized service of an important industrial hinterland which is recognized and valued internationally. Several companies at the Port are project specialist and have production plants on port premises and other companies has a base terminal in the Port from which it imports and exports all over the world.
Alongside these companies, stevedoring and cargo handling companies provide a service for all the main container shipping lines that offer space for oversized cargo. In addition, The Port of Bilbao is already being a consolidated wind energy hub, iron and steel products are of particular importance. Fulfilling the commitment to offer services while respecting the environment, as a green port, the Port Authority will deploy OPS technology at the Ro-Ro, container and cruise terminals.
